- Sponsor Information
Since 1969, WMPH has operated as a non-profit broadcast
learning center. Although non-commercial, WMPH may have sponsors
to cover operational costs. A sponsor is defined as, “A person or
business who donates products or services.” Sponsor messages, or
spots, differ slightly than commercials. Our spots are recorded to
30 seconds only. Spots may acknowledge a sponsor by giving
information about the sponsor and nature of business including
contact information and location. However, a sponsor message may
not specify sales, prices and biased statements against their
competition. For example, a message may not say “For the best in…”
We can not elevate a sponsor above their competition in the
message, which is the primary difference between a commercial and
sponsor message.
WMPH classifies as § 501(c)(3) non-profit and
sponsors contributions may be tax-exempt.
Definition: Spot is defined as a specific recorded
message for a client / contributor. Spots are always 30 seconds in length.
All recording studio time is FREE at WMPH,
although clients may have spots recorded elsewhere.
